Two brothers, ages 8 and 12, wounded by gunfire in Texas

Two brothers, ages 8 and 12, were in the back seat of a car in Abilene, Texas, when the driver was involved in a drug deal.  The drug deal went wrong, and as the car fled, bullets flew.  Both boys were injured in the gunfire.  The 12-year old was severely wounded in the head.  The 8-year old was either grazed by a bullet or hit by flying glass.

From an article:
On Monday, the boy, along with his 8-year-old brother, were wounded about 5:30 p.m. during what police say was a drug transaction among adults that went bad in the 5300 block of Ninth Street.
Police said the shooting followed an altercation, and the boys — back seat passengers of a vehicle being driven from the scene — were struck by bullets after two shots were fired, allegedly by an Abilene man.
The 12-year-old boy's condition on Wednesday did not improve, said Detective Eric Vickers.
The 8-year-old boy was treated and released with minor injuries from Hendrick Medical Center on Monday night. He might have been grazed by a bullet or hit by flying glass, according to Police Sgt. Lynn Beard.
Christopher Mack, 21, has been charged with two counts of first-degree injury to a child. Mack was taken into custody early Tuesday, and remained at the Taylor County Jail on Wednesday afternoon in lieu of bonds totaling $300,000.
