Middle school student threatened with gun at school by another student

A middle school boy in Culver City, California, is accused of having taken a gun to school and pointing it at another student.  Police later found the gun in the boy's backpack at his home.

The boy, who was 11 or 12 years old, was taken into custody early Tuesday morning after officers went to his home and found the weapon in his backpack, the Culver City Police Department said. 

"The gun was unloaded," Lt. Ron Iizuka told The Times. 

He said police were alerted Monday night by a parent, who told authorities that her son saw the boy with the gun at school.
