16-year old boy shot to death in South Bend, Indiana

A 16-year old boy and a 19-year old young man were walking in South Bend, Indiana, along with a third person, when a car pulled up and the occupants shot at them.  Both were wounded.  The 16-year old eventually died from his wound.

From the article:

One of two teens injured in last week's drive-by shooting on South Bend's northwest side died early Saturday morning.

It happened just after 1 a.m. on April 6 near the intersection of California and Allen Streets.
Police say three people were walking down the sidewalk in the 1100 block of California Street when a black car pulled up and shot directly at them.

16-year-old Kenneth Horton of South Bend was taken to the hospital in critical condition after being hit in shooting and died Saturday from his injuries.

A 19-year-old who was also shot was treated and released, and the third person was not injured.

Metro Homicide continues to investigate but no suspects have been taken into custody at this time.

Last week South Bend Police were looking to see if this incident was related to another shooting that happened just two weeks earlier at the Century Center, where two other teens were hit. No word yet on if they've found any connection between the two.
